More than 400 people on Tuesday gathered in front of Liberal Party national headquarters at Balay Expo Centro Building, EDSA corner McArthur Avenue, Araneta Center, demanding payment for their protest service during the Edsa anniversary on Sunday.
Police Senior Inspector Napoleon Caguitla said the group caught their attention after motorists started to complain over a traffic build-up due to a growingh crowd.
A man identified himself as one of the rally organizers on Saturday said that a high-ranking member of Liberal Party promised them to pay ₱1,000 each but their members received only ₱150 and a hamburger.
The man did not give specific names but said they will not leave the area unless their demand is met.
As of press time, more than 400 people already gathered in front of the building and LP officials are declining to give comment.
The police official added.
Another man who is among the crowd said his family should receive at least ₱5,000 because they were recruited all the way from Tarlac and has no means to return.
Sana man lang bigyan nila kami kahit pamasahe at pambili ng bigas”, the man said.
This is the first time that protesters came out boldly demanding payment for their service.
